ABOUT THE POSITION

At Sweco's Digital Services division, you will work at the forefront of digitalization, where they place great emphasis on learning and development. Among your future colleagues, you will find GIS and BIM experts, data and information coordinators, geodata experts, system developers, and other IT specialists. With a strong culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration, they work across office boundaries to solve complex challenges. This role can be based in the offices in Karlstad or Örebro, where you will become part of a network of skilled GIS specialists and engineers.

As a GIS Engineer at Sweco, you will work as a consultant on various assignments where you will have the opportunity to develop and implement GIS solutions for several of their clients. They extensively use Open Source-based GIS solutions, such as Origo, QGIS, and Hajk, so we would like you to have experience with these. You will work closely with clients to analyze needs, develop geotechnical solutions, and integrate GIS into various business areas. The role involves collaboration with both clients and colleagues, where together you create smart and efficient solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

• Development and customization of GIS solutions using Open Source tools
• Automation and management of geographic data flows with FME
• Analysis and processing of geographic data for various client projects
• Consulting and support for clients in GIS and data management

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

• Has a post-secondary education in GIS. It is also interesting if you have a computer science education with knowledge of geographic IT
• Preferably has several years of experience as a GIS engineer or similar work experience deemed equivalent
• Has experience with Open Source-based GIS solutions, such as Origo, QGIS, and/or Hajk
• Can communicate fluently in spoken and written Swedish, as it is used in daily work

It is a merit if you have

• Any certifications in FME. If you do not have this beforehand, there is an opportunity to obtain certification on-site at Sweco
